Tumbled Puddingstones

These are tumbled Michigan puddingstones. They were tumbled using the following method:

Rotary tumble in 46/70 grit, checking progress weekly. Tumble them until they’re done. For most rocks, this is multiple weeks.

Then move the rocks to a vibratory tumbler (I use a Lot-O).
2 days in 220 silicon carbide (2 TBSP)
1 day in 500 aluminum oxide (1/2 tsp) and borax (1 TBSP)
1 day in 1000 aluminum oxide (1/2 tsp) and borax (1 TBSP)
1 day in aluminum oxide polish (1/2 tsp) and borax (1 TBSP)

I buy most of my lapidary supplies from The Rock Shed. I don’t make money from your purchases there, but I really think they have the best prices and the best service, so I feel good recommending them. https://rockshed.com

I also have an Amazon storefront. This is where you can find other products you may have seen in my videos. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

On Michigan Rocks you can join me on relaxing rock hunts in picturesque Michigan. I’ll also show you how to polish rocks and teach you other lapidary techniques. New videos are posted every Tuesday and Friday. Subscribe now so you don’t miss any upcoming videos!
